A mild touch of wood frames the fresh and well-layered aromas of plum and cassis that are less obviously ripe than many ´09s. There is a real sense of underlying vitality to the vibrant middle weight flavors that brim with both copious amounts of dry extract and ample minerality on the serious yet not particularly rustic, powerful and firmly tannic finish. This is well-balanced from the standpoint of the density of material relative to the structural elements.
