The 2018 Meursault Le Village actually comes from the "Le Village" lieu-dit, located (surprisingly enough) in the village and surrounded by walls. The 0.33 hectares of vines are in excess of 80 years old and tend to crop at around 20hl/ha. This has a very attractive bouquet of orange blossom and white peach aromas. The palate is well balanced with a vibrant, lightly spiced opening, veins of white chocolate infusing the tropical notes toward the finish. Stem ginger and a touch of rhubarb linger on the aftertaste. Excellent.
Rich and dramatic, Dugat-Py´s 2018 Meursault Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers, clear honey and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a layered, textural core of fruit, succulent acids and an expansive finish, it´s a gourmand, rather old-fashioned Meursault that´s quite extroverted out of the gates by the domaine´s standards.
