The 2015 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from parcels located on limestone soils and comprises three barrels this year with 100% whole bunch fruit. It has a very perfumed and pure bouquet with dark cherries, violets, blackcurrant and cold stone, almost marine aromas. This has excellent precision and seems to soak up that new oak with ease. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, crisp and fresh with good acidity, linear towards the finish, but very precise. This is one of Dugat-Py's strongest offerings in 2015.

Here the taciturn and brooding nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of the sauvage, earth, plum, cassis and background floral nuances. The big-bodied flavors are tighter and more massive than those of the Charmes though they are also more mineral-driven on the muscular, intense and exceptionally persistent finish. This powerful effort is going to require extended cellaring.
